Climate Protection Award 2025 for IMPEX

When modern forestry equipment not only operates efficiently but also actively contributes to forest conservation, something of real value is created. For precisely this reason, IMPEX Forstmaschinen GmbH has been awarded the 2025 Climate Protection Award in the “Business” category.

 

The jury was particularly impressed by IMPEX’s standing-tree harvesting system. This specially developed combination of gripping unit and saw head allows trees to be securely held, cleanly cut, and placed upright in the skid trail. This method protects young natural regeneration, prevents unnecessary damage during timber extraction, and minimizes soil compaction.

 

IMPEX has also introduced an innovation for direct reseeding — an automated sowing system integrated directly into the harvester. This enables rapid and soil-conserving reforestation, which is especially important in the face of climate change, pest pressure, and large-scale forest damage.

 

The award ceremony at the Sparkasse Hall in Straubing made one thing clear: advanced forestry technology and climate protection are not mutually exclusive. For IMPEX, the award is motivation to keep moving forward — to support the forests of the future with modern, sustainable technology.
