Performance Giant Hannibal T60

64-Ton Operating Weight and 20-Meter Reach in the Ore Mountains

With the Hannibal T60, Impex introduces a new performance benchmark in standing tree harvesting. This 64-ton harvester combines a specially developed 20-meter crane with the HD1200 head, enabling safe and efficient timber harvesting over natural regeneration.

Crane Reach for 40-Meter Corridor Spacing

In the Grumbach forestry district, the stands are predominantly spruce with a high proportion of fine soil, which necessitates corridor spacing of around 40 meters. Thanks to its double telescopic crane, the T60 can reach the center of the stand and lift trees vertically out of the regeneration layer. The lifting capacity remains impressive even at full extension: 2.2 tons at 20 meters, 4.7 tons at 17 meters, and 6.8 tons at 15 meters.

HD1200: Custom-Built for Extreme Dimensions

The HD1200 is a one-off head designed specifically for the T60. It allows felling cuts of up to 1.20 meters at the root collar and operates with a 1.35-meter saw bar housed in a reinforced saw box. The feed rollers provide a throughput of up to 850 millimeters. The robust combination of saw box, three-quarter-inch chain, and heavy-duty frame construction is built to handle large and heavy timber.

Cab with 4.90-Meter Eye Level

The hydraulically elevating cab reaches a maximum eye level of 4.90 meters, offering the operator a direct view over the regeneration layer. Four monitors assist the operation:

  • Front and rear cameras

  • Head control and measuring system

  • Camera at the tree holder for precise felling timing

Additionally, a self-leveling tree holder ensures precise positioning of the harvesting head.

Powerful Machine Concept

The Hannibal T60 is powered by a Cummins L9 six-cylinder engine (370 hp, Tier V). Two hydraulic pumps deliver a combined flow rate of 1,000 liters per minute. With 490 liters of hydraulic oil and a 460-liter diesel tank, the machine is built for extended operation. Its 64-ton operating weight, combined with adjustable track units (each extendable by 850 mm laterally), ensures excellent stability. The undercarriage and crane are fully manufactured by Impex, while the upper structure is the result of a collaboration with Sennebogen.

In Operation in the Neudorf Forestry District

Top Forst deploys the T60 on logging sites with a minimum of 2,000 solid cubic meters—often considerably more. The harvester significantly reduces the need for additional felling and protects natural regeneration, as no skid trails need to be cleared. Even after a short deployment, the machine’s productivity becomes clear, with timber stacks rapidly accumulating along the forest roads.

Standing Tree Harvesting as the Standard

The combination of long reach, high lifting power, and advanced head technology enables complete removal of trees while they remain standing. This improves:

  • Workplace safety

  • Protection of young growth

  • Processing speed

  • Cost-efficiency on large tracts

In the Neudorf forestry district, the T60 has become a central tool for efficient and low-impact timber harvesting.
